No, today isn’t my 21st (natal) birthday. That’s already occurred twice and long gone.
Today, is my 21st Gohonzon , the mandala or object of focus, I use when I chant nam-myoho-renge-kyo (NMRK) and recite the 2nd and 16th chapters of the Lotus Sutra, as a practitioner of Nichiren Buddhism and member of Soka Gakkai International.
My life has been enriched in so many ways that I never thought was possible. And is continuing to unfold in mystical ways aligning me with my true purpose and mission.
NMRK TO ME!
Nam ( devotion). Myoho (Mystic Law)/(myo: life, to open, to endow, to revive; ho: death). Renge (lotus flower, simultaneity of cause & effect; the lotus flower is the only plant in known existence that seeds and blossoms in a murky swamp at the same time). Kyo ( sound, vibration, teaching, sutra).
Myoho Renge Kyo: Title of the Lotus Sutra by Nichiren Daishonin.
Ch. 2: Expedient Means. Ch. 16: Life Span. Lotus Sutra: highest teaching of Shakyamuni.
